September - new beginnings in Zimbabwe

When we did reach Zimbabwe, for the first week I did a lot of simply sitting and staring and soaking up the sun and breathing in the warm air, recharging...and catching up with family who live here.

And reconnecting with this beautiful land.  We visited my parents and brother and sister who all live in the Lake Kariba/Zambezi river region.  An area which is very wild and very hot.  Beautiful wild animals still roam freely.

And then we returned to the capital city, Harare, and moved in to our new home which belongs to my family.  A simple, cosy three bedroom house on an acre of land.  Perfect for us. Our family very kindly gave us all the basic furniture we need.  How blessed we are to have such loving, supportive family.

Luckily, Mark found work in his field very quickly so all good.  The garden looks brown and dry because in Zimbabwe this time of year - end August/early September is nearing the end of winter - the dry season.  It is not cold here though.  Slightly cool in the mornings and evenings and warm/hot during the day.  A beautiful climate!  We are so happy.  At this time, each morning I woke up with the sun and watched that African sun rise and was so full of gratitude for this opportunity.
