St Nicholas and Advent

Crystals we grew last week.

Excitement and playing at being St Nicholas and Rupert. This is such a lovely festival to celebrate and my boys are so intrigued by St Nicholas and Rupert and just can't hear enough stories about St Nicholas. They all look so forward to this day. The happiness and anticipation and care lining their slippers up the evening before.

Beautiful evening walks to energise us.

And lighting of second light of advent.

Festival of Plants - Advent

The second light of Advent is the light of plants.
Roots, stem, leaf, flower and fruit by whom we live and grow.

Our plant kingdom angel created with honesty seeds.

On Sunday we awoke to the most beautiful sights around us - a majestic sun rising casting golden splendour upon white frost and glistening ice. The stark beauty of the bare trees and the glorious sound of the large flocks of starlings telling all the world that it was indeed the festival of plants. Mother Nature had adorned herself in spendour for this festival - all awaiting the coming!

We dashed out and enjoyed an exhilerating walk in nature and were filled with reverence. Later, we planted three holly bushes with each child.
