The farmer has started preparing the fields to sow organic wheat here. It always amazes us that within minutes of him starting to turn the soil, flocks of gulls arrive from nowhere and start looking for food. Incredible how they get to know...the boys call them crazy birds.

Warm enough to go barefoot and reconnect with the ground beneath.

A tribe of jabberwockys.

The insect world is awakening - our insect boy is delighted...

Wheelbarrows make mighty ships sailing the seven seas.

Wool on the trees for the birds to use in their nests.

And this mama sits in the gentle sun spinning, savouring every kick of this growing babe and loving seeing her children running free...
oh my goodness, I think our 2 youngest little loves are twins, will have to email you photo of Oscar, they are sooo alike.
ReplyDeleteLove the spinning shot, must get my wheel out into the sunshine, bright and sunny here but still very cold

Oh your post really has me craving spring! I can't wait to let the kids run free :) Have fun ...
ReplyDeleteHello dear friend:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful post. The fields so nearby to where you live must be heaven to watch as the seasons change. Barefoot children, how wonderful! Thanks for the reminder about wool in the trees for the birds. How lovely to see your spinning wheel Kelly.
We all can't wait for your new arrival:)
I wanted to share this wonderful book, my hubby brought home last night as a gift for me. It is a South African book about a farming family called A Farm in My Heart. It has recipes, tips, stories and it is just stunning. When I saw it and read a little I thought of you:)
Have a lovely day mama,
Warmly
Linda
"Warm enough to go barefoot and reconnect with the ground beneath..." Oh that sounds positively scrumptious! I am indeed looking forward to spring!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Love all of the photos, especially the muddy feet!
ReplyDeleteKelly - what perfect moments captured forever - the pure joy and innocence of what childhood *should be* for every child is radiating like bright lights from your boys! (Sigh of contentment)...I think I will carry the images from your post throughout the day - simplicity and perfection! Your wheel is gorgeous, btw! Thank you fro sharing. Hugs,

ReplyDeleteHi dear Linda
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to be surrounded by fields and watch what they reflect of the seasons. The book you mention sounds absolutely delightful and I am left itching to read it! I will have to see if I can source a copy from here. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, dear friend! This oh so precious time should last longer!
LOVE the tribe of jabberwockys! My girls were out in the mud and enjoying too today; actually Fauna was in the mud, Rain doesn't really like the feel of it.

Sounds like a heavenly day. We're anxiously awaiting barefoot weather here, but the wind is still bitter cold and more snow is on the way. Your early spring pictures remind me of what we have to look forward to. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello dear Suzanne
ReplyDeletewhat is it like having three boys? - well, they say they are as wild as the hills and they want another brother to join the gang! Aaron must have lots of wonderful times with his sisters and how they must especially treasure him.
Hello and thank you for the comment you left on my blog a while ago, about Stroud. Lovely to know that you live in Cirencester, we've been there quite a few times. Beautiful town. I so miss that part of the world! Enjoy the awakening of the Spring and all the best to you on this final stage of your pregnancy and delivery.
