Early March - hammocks, leek soup, water monitor and baby chameleon

The boys used blankets to make hammocks in the guava trees.  They have had so many hours of fun in those hammocks.

Jedi even fell asleep in one and slept comfortably for almost two hours all snug!

We found another tiny baby chameleon.  Such a sweet little thing.
All the boys having a good game of pirates on a bridge in the garden.
Games with dinosaurs in gooey goo.
Leek soup on St. David's day.

When we were last at the local nature reserve the boys caught a young water monitor.  Sadly, his eyes were damaged.  We took him home to look after as he was injured but sadly he didn't make it.  Such beautiful colourings.  This is a baby.  They are the biggest lizards in these parts and can grow into dinosaurs of as much as two metres in length!

Some of here

Giant sunflowers reaching for the sky.

Click beetles that really do leap!

Collecting snail shells.

Purple hearts!

Always dinoworld. This time a new extinction theory. The dinos had an identity crisis. They believed they were burrowing flumps and burrowed themselves in the earth resulting in suffocation.

Sand play. We made this sandpit using an old tractor tyre.

Magical fairy shoes and beams of childlight

What about this for some magic!

Fairy shoes all ready for midsummer fairy fun...

...in pairs hid away within white dead nettle flowers..!

A beam of pure light and joy! Our Jediah is two months old! How truly blessed we are.

These two are loving each other's company.

Football rock drawings. See some of the players kicking balls.

A giant ant in clay.

Strange water games!

Happy, happy summer!

Outside

The farmer has started preparing the fields to sow organic wheat here. It always amazes us that within minutes of him starting to turn the soil, flocks of gulls arrive from nowhere and start looking for food. Incredible how they get to know...the boys call them crazy birds.

Warm enough to go barefoot and reconnect with the ground beneath.

A tribe of jabberwockys.

The insect world is awakening - our insect boy is delighted...

Wheelbarrows make mighty ships sailing the seven seas.

Wool on the trees for the birds to use in their nests.

And this mama sits in the gentle sun spinning, savouring every kick of this growing babe and loving seeing her children running free...

Mud and water works

The boys spent a good part of this morning happily absorbed in redirecting the flow of puddle water.  They designed dams, streams, lakes, bridges -  a glorious water mud world.
