Slime

We love making batches of slime (or gooey goo as we call it)  on bright, sunny days.  It is a wonderful sensory experience for children and mamas too.  Sometimes I add swamp creatures to surprise - a few toy plastic snakes, frogs, lizards, crocodiles. Sometimes the children strip off and cover themselves all over to become slime monsters.

The slime feels solid when you punch it but runny when you hold it.  It is like a solid and a liquid. A bit like being stuck in quicksand.

In a large tub, mix 2 cups of water and a little food colouring with 6 cups cornflour/cornstarch. Mix really well.

Prepare to get messy and have lots of fun!

  4. How fun, Kelly! I'm so excited to see your daughter is starting 1st grade, as well (saw your comment on Donna's blog) so I'm going to be checking yours often & linking you to mine to have some buds to go on the 1st grade journey with! Will be fun! Donna & I are on opposite coasts, but we are on opposite continents - LOL! Still, we're joined together on this wonderful journey & I'm thankful for that :) Talk to you soon!

  5. HI Tammy, magiconions and Linda
It certainly is fun. Try it, you will enjoy it, if you like gooey, oozy things!

    Hi Jen
Yes, it is our son who will be starting 1st grade. I have so much more planning to do - gulp!! We are both very excited though! We received our pennywhistle from Jodie yesterday and Sol was so excited. He can't wait to learn. It is good to know such wonderful mamas to walk this beautiful journey with.
    Best wishes
