Lavender bags and lavender cookies

This week, we have been working on sewing little lavender bags to place in our clothes drawers. Sol has really taken to sewing, with a little help once in a while.  Leo and Noah enjoyed spooning the dry lavender flowers into the bags.

We also made lavender cookies using this recipe.  Tasty!

Lavender cookies

150g/5oz/2/3 cup butter

11g / 4oz/ 1/2 cup sugar

1 egg beaten

15ml / 1tbspn dried lavender flowers

175g / 6oz / 1 1/2 cups spelt flour

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius / 350 F / Gas 4.  Grease two baking sheets. Cream the butter and sugar together, then stir in egg. Mix in the lavender flowers and the flour.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture on to the baking sheets.  Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes, until the biscuits are golden.

The middle photo - the one with the bags lying on top of the lavender - that is such a peaceful photo. I really like it.

    Suzanne,
Lavender is so versatile really. The boys really enjoyed the cookies. It's wonderful that Brogan enjoys baking!

    Tammy and Linda,
Our little Leo has really taken to those lavender bags. Every night he goes to sleep holding one in his little hand. I think I should make him a lavender gnome.

Have a lovely weekend, dear friends.
