Grain mill

Look at this gorgeous hand coffee mill I discovered at a car boot sale recently.  It has never been used.  The boys really love grinding seeds in the mill.  We have planted some organic wheat in our garden so that we can follow the whole process from seed to bread.

  2. What a treasure!

My mom had (still has?) a small grain mill. The only thing she ever used it for was to keep our school lunch tickets in the drawer, lol. I'd like to get one for myself someday so we can actually grind our grains fresh.

  4. Gosh... what a FIND. We had a wheat series at K's school... the story we told was The Little Red Hen... it is so lovely to follow the process of one of our staples, bread, from start to finish.

  5. Thanks everyone! We shall be making good use of it and grinding everything we can. Car boots, charity shops and the like are certainly great places to find treasures.
