Crystals

This is such fun.  We have made these crystals before, experimenting with different shapes and different colours.  We mix about 5/6ish tablespoons of borax in very hot boiled water in a big glass jar until it has all dissolved.  Then hang our shaped pipe cleaner (tied with string to a wooden skewer) into the jar and wait for the magic to happen overnight..

    Thanks, Kelly... I've been seeing these crystal shapes around and have meant to look up how to make them... haven't got around to it... thought it would be far more involved than Borax and hot water... who knew! I even have a box of borax in the kitchen... we'll make ours this week and post them for you to see. Thanks for showing us how easy they are. Also, we are going to put wool on a tree this week for the birds to feather their nests this spring... they are frantically into building their nests... wonderful thing to do. Thanks for the ideas.
