July - dry, cool winter, knitting, gingerbread house
Grey lauries (go away birds) have been frequenting the syringa tree to eat the berries. It has been a cool winter and it is pleasant!
We've made a gingerbread house. See Hansel and Gretel!
I knitted two sausage dogs as a custom order.
And finished this prayer shawl. I am making up complete knitting packs to spread the word about these meaningful shawls. They make such special gifts for friends.

Snakes, winter, and sick...
Sol caught a large skaapstekker snake in our garden. These snakes can give quite a nasty bite so we took him to our friend the snake expert to set free in the wild.
It is winter in the southern hemisphere and cold enough to light the fire and gather around for together time.
The rest of June had us all down with colds that really hit us hard so nothing more from June!

June - the month of guavas and winter definitely underway.
So many guavas from our trees. Baskets and baskets full. We have gathered as many as we can to store in the freezer.
Dyeing rainbow wool.
And then spinning it up. I can even manage to spin with both babes on my lap. Slow progress though! And the twins munching on quavas and chatting to the tortoise who also enjoys guavas. They are very high in Vitamin C. So good to pick fruit straight off the tree. Sun ripened, full of goodness.
