The ice balls looked so beautiful and were decreed ice dragon eggs by the boys. All sorts of experiments were tried on them. The balls were rolled along the ground, tasted, thrown about the garden, hand drilled, wrapped in cloths to try stop them from melting and gazed at and admired for their beauty. Once all the ice dragon babies had hatched and had flown off into the sky, we went inside for lunch and when we came out again, they had disappeared - the dog had munched away on them all!!
PS. How we made them! Balloons. Stick the balloon opening over a sink tap. Add water to the balloon. Slowly ease the balloon off the tap so you don't splash everywhere. Hold open the balloon opening and get a helper to add the food colouring. Tie. Stick into the freezer or outside in extremely cold weather. We put them in the freezer. When frozen cut off the balloon and there you have some magic in your hands.

Suzanne, they were great fun! Your children are bound to lvoe them when you try it out in winter. We are going to try again, only this time, leave out the food colour and use glitter.

He is one of the boys and enjoys all these things we try out!! Thing is, he is not just a dog - sometimes he is a donkey, sometimes a llama..all sorts. He is part of all sorts of explorations, experiments and fun.
