Where we play, where we learn

Most of the best times we have are usually those spent out in nature.  When we are out there, without the buzz of electricity, without the confines of walls, without things, the sky truly is the limit.  When we are without, we have so much. We connect with and gather inspiration from nature.  We breathe in the fresh air, strengthen our bodies, observe the weather, find small treasures, enjoy great imaginings...  We connect with each other and play such fine games and have incredible conversations.  We are free to be.

Today, we walked through Pheasant Field and hung out at a favourite stopping point, a fallen branch, which transforms itself into a number of fine props.  We played a great game of 'hide and seek the stick', which turned to track the stick and then lets disguise our tracks so cleverly you can't find the stick.

The not a branch..and three free nature lovers.

The boy, the stick and the best friend

The stick is on its way to join a treasured collection of many other sticks.

  1. Aaahh, we also have a collection of treasured sticks that Caiden and Kye find down at the lake or even at the coast when we visit. Each one is very special and has to be kept for numerous reasons.....precious.....

  2. Yes, exactly! Each stick has a purpose. A while back we came across a delightful book called 'Not a stick'. There's another entitled, 'Not a box'.
