The last part of May has been such an active time.
Watching great working horses displaying their skills and strength.
Waterside visits to find leeches.
Farm visits (and lots of sheep fleece acquiring while there!). Hebridean sheep.
Sol celebrated his first holy communion. Bless that beautiful boy.
Visit to my grandfather to wish him happy birthday. The boys enjoyed helping their great grandfather to feed the fish in the pond. I think they were a bit overfed that day!
We spotted the cheeky heron in a stream nearby who catches those same fish in the pond when he can!
Mud games.
Lots of time nature adventuring. A weevil on a dog rose bud and spittle bug sheltering amongst the grass.
This little one year old has just started taking his first steps!

There is so much to notice at this time of year. Sometimes I think that I could take all day just walking around our garden, let alone beyond, noticing the changes and the different varieties of insects. It could take me all day. Looks like you have been busy.
ReplyDeleteBusy times, love the muddy photo!
ReplyDeleteAh some Hebridean, hope it's lovely and soft, I have some but haven't done much spinning with it yet - tried it in the grease but felt it was just too greasy (good thing) so have washed it but not tried it again yet. Enjoy!
oooh mud games look fun! we would have to make mud here. no rain for a long time :-(
ReplyDeleteMy dear freeflowing friend~~~

All your photos show so much joy my friend. Your post with the snails and elephants, your colorful maypole celebration. We to had a little maypole, just no time to post. May, spring days are so beautiful. We are reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books, the boys are loving them, especially now that we have begun our travels and their are many wagons and indian/cowboy history and crafts along the way. Laura had her first experience with leeches,, we have never seen them. We are doing the same except in a more luxurious way I would say. Little babe is so so beautiful. I wish I could hug him. How he's grown, those first steps, precious little one. Much love sweet Kelly. Have a beautiful time with the warm weather amidst the sweet smelling flowers, bugs and mud for your boys.xxx

Plenty of mud here - I love that picture. Our next door neighbour has Hebrideans - they are a bit wild!
ReplyDeleteAnd your sweet baby is one already!!
xx
That Hebridean us absolutely beautiful. Wow!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...leeches! Benjamin wonders about leeches all the time (after hearing about the in On the Banks of Plum Creek). I imagine one day he'll meet up with one!
Nice to see you and your beautiful family--love the photo next to the pond. I've missed 'visiting' my online friends--especially you. :)
beautiful photos, I especially love the one of your boys and their great grandpa:)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Sol! I bet you are both proud! First communion fits perfectly with the 9-year-old change becoming an individual. What a big moment. It is great to fill so big and important. My son had his, too, and we were so proud.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, especially like the mud photo! Your children are brave collecting leeches, you wouldn't get my girls doing that!
