Spring Season's corner

My Lady Spring is dressed in green, she wears a primrose crown.
And little baby buds and twigs are clinging to her gown.
The sun shines if she laughs at all,
and if she weeps the raindrops fall.
My Lady Spring, my Lady Spring, My Lady Spring.
- N Foster - Spring - Wystones Press

I made our Princess Spring by making a needle felt head and arms and I used Cotswold sheep fleece locks dyed with nettles for her hair.
Her gown is felt and I knitted her cloak.  I think the greens, purples and pinks are very much like spring in our surrounds.  I should change her eyes.  One is a bit bigger than the other, but I guess it adds character to her!

Some of the wild flowers up in our woods this spring.
 Primroses
Purple wild violet and yellow lesser celandine
Blackthorn in blossom all along the hedgerows.  How my little heart sings with joy each time I see this.  They call to me, ' come with with us, come walk with us..'
Blackthorn - the pearls of early spring.  These shrubs are shrouded in enchantment and mysticism.

  1. You have captured spring beautifully. And I didn't even notice any difference in eye sizes. (It'f funny how we're always so critical of our own work.) And you have flowers already! Sigh.

  2. Your Spring season corner looks glorious!

We are surrounded by blackthorn blossom and primroses too, how I love both of them, they make me smile every single day.

I was also wondering if the purple flowers which grow abundantly here were wild violet and they the same as those in your photos, so thank you for identifying them for me :)

Sending you all lots of love and spring joy.

  9. My little African Friend!

Its good to be back... I have missed your space too and look forward to my visits again. Spring ~ Autumn see opposites do attract. Thank you so much for keeping in contact with me over this time. I had a peek at your spinning. My it looks good. I still have those little shock moments when my yarn curls like a pigs tail. I end up SNAPPING them all off. Hopefully one day I will spin more evenly.

    Love to you Kelly
