Stick towers

The first day of February was a good day to build stick towers in the woods.  We started with a square of sticks and just kept building squares of sticks on top.  The tower looks fantastic in the woods.  We pretended we were building a pyramid!  No treasure and no mummies but a staircase to the sun.  We shall build more and see just how high we reach.

It was also a good day for throwing stones in puddles.

And we saw five beautiful deer race across the field in front of us.  The blackthorn trees have tiny blossom buds.  It won't be all that long before they are awash with white blossom!   Later in the day we even felt the sun so warm on our faces it tingled!

A good first day of February!

  3. what a fun walk, I love your stick towers. Throwing rocks in puddles reminds me of a morning walk last winter. We were going to the playground but just up the road we found a big muddy puddle with lots of rocks around it. We didn't make it to the playground but then again nature is of course the best playground of all:)Thanks for your kind word on my spinning, im having lots of fun with it

  5. I don't think we've made any nature art this year (winter), while out in the wilds. Somehow, I only think of it when at home! :) Too busy loving and running and discovering when we're there, I think.
I love the tower idea, of course!

  10. oooh great idea with the stick towers.
And what is it with boys and puddles, mud and stones? My boys are completely content throwing stones and squelching in mud ALL day. The girls aren't so eager though :P
