Icy lakes adventure

Incredibly beautiful to see all the lakes at a nature reserve yesterday iced over.

Winter is indeed wise and old and majestic.

We went to do some birdwatching but not many spotted although we did spot:

Quicksand there!  Never come across that before on our adventures!

And cows in a field nearby.

And that was our adventure of the day.

  1. Quicksand! I've only ever read about quicksand. I'm crazy (or stupid) enough I'd want to go stand in it to just *see* if it really was quicksand, lol.

We must think alike. I had the same thoughts too - of testing out the quicksand!! Very tempting stuff!!

  4. Great photographs of your walk. And quicksand! I was always scared, as a child, that I would fall into quicksand. Too many cowboy and western tv programmes to blame, i think :)

  5. Is quicksand quick in the winter?

I've been thinking of lopping my hair off, but then I saw your lovely long hair and must now reconsider.

    Blessings and light...

  7. We're pretty fascinated by quicksand around here! :)
We have bogs up at our lake (we claim it, we don't own it), but it's not really sand, but black silt type stuff.

    Fun, fun.
