Sunrise and spiderwebs

The two younger boys and I were out very early this morning watching the sun rise and the mist. As the sun rose, it shone on hundreds and hundreds of spiderwebs amongst the oats. A truly beautiful start to the last day of August.

  1. Beautiful photos! The early morning is such a fleeting, magical time to spend with your children! Last week we looked out our bedroom window to see a deer under our apple tree, early in the morning. What a thrill! No camera to hand, but I won't forget!

  3. What gorgeous pictures! I always kick myself for not having my camera on hand as I drive home from work, (I do a night shift on the weekends and I drive home between 6:30 & 7am), there is usually a beautiful mist over everything as of late, and I just LOVE this quiet time of day!

  4. Oh, those dew-drenched webs are simply magic in the sun! Thank you for sharing them with those of us who, ahem, don't always rise early enough to see such sights. :-)

  7. Oh my! I've been saving your last few posts in my Reader so I could take my time savoring each one.

I'm so glad I did! The webs are gorgeous! Gorgeous! I love, love, love the snail photos & the interesting tidbit about them being left/right footed!

I've had a trying (to say the least) day with my little one. Sitting down to gaze at your beautiful photos (even the fungi) makes me smile.

  14. Hello dear friend,
Such beauty in these photos... I love dawn, such a special time of day, when all is still and one can almost hear the earth breathe. What lovely spiderwebs you have captured Kelly.
    Wishing you a restful weekend,
    xo

  15. We are very interested in spiders here - we were talking only yesterday of hunting for jewelled webs on the next misty morning. Beautiful images.
