My lantern, my lantern,
Sun and Moon and Starlight.
In the darkened heaven high,
Shine no stars within the sky.
Darkened is the path this night.
With no moon or star as light.
My lantern, my lantern,
Sun and Moon and Starlight.
Friendly little lantern bright,
Be my sun and shield this night.
Be my moon and sun so high.
No light is in the sky.
Even the dog joined in the celebration. :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! Looks like your family had a wonderful time, and I like your lanterns. Are those ribbon handles?
ReplyDeleteWe got to celebrate Martinmas with some German friends one year. I loved it. It is just at this time when I am feeling the need to draw close to the fire and feel light and heat! I hope I will get to hear some Martinmas songs one day. Beth
ReplyDeleteHello dear friend
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to pop over this morning to visit. Thank you for your Martinmas poem. We also made our little lanterns and had our nightime lantern walk. I hope you are well Kelly. I would love to see some photo's of your little developing tummy...My spinning is on a roll and I cannot stop. I just love it. I think waeving is definitely on the cards too.
Have a wonderful weekend
Warm regards
Suzanne

ReplyDeleteHi Sara,
Thank you. Ribbon handles would be beautiful, but, no, they're card. Our boys love evening festivals are were enthralled by their lanterns.
Hi Beth,
I think it is lovely you got to celebrate with friends. Last year we went on a lantern walk with a whole bunch and it was so lovely to see all the children weaving along with their lanterns glowing.
Hi dear Suzanne
I wish I could pop around and sit and spin with you. Certainly no stopping you now. Spinning is just the best to me.
Best wishes
