Ice boats and pictures

We filled ice cube trays with water mixed with food colouring in a variety of colours.  Once the ice cubes were frozen, we popped them out and sailed our 'ice boats'.  The boys loved watching the boats melt and the rainbow colours mixing together in the water.

We also used some of the coloured ice cubes to paint with.

  2. Hello Kelly

Oh this looks like a nice warm day activity. I shall be doing this with Aaron and Livy soon. Thanks for the lovely idea. Do remember that all you do with your little ones inspire me to do these things with my little ones. Thank you

  3. Hi Tammy and Suzanne,
When painting with coloured ice cubes, do use the thickest paper you have for best results. It is fun!
