Traces of animals

On one of our walks a few days ago we kept a good look out for signs of animal activity.  Here's Leo having a good look for some signs around this beautiful beech tree.

We came across so, so many different traces of animal life including..

A munched on pine cone.

A munched on hedgehog.

Rabbit hole and lots of rabbit droppings.

Worm casts.  

There is a barn nearby in which an owl lives and which we aptly call 'Barn Owl Barn'.  We had hoped to find some owl pellets but no luck that day.  We found some a while ago but they didn't have anything very interesting in them.  We have also been eager to find some frog spawn in a natural setting but still haven't discovered any yet.
