We saw new buds and catkins and delicate white and pink blossoms.

We bade good day to this fine looking pair of swans and later watched them gracefully spread their mighty wings, effortlessly rise out of the water to take flight and then glide down parting the shimmering water - simply majestic..

We spotted one..

two..

three nests.

The best sign of spring though, the sign we have been on the look out for is this....

Frog spawn - hooray!!! Just what we have been so eager to discover in a natural setting. Sol was so, so happy that he discovered it, he went to sleep talking about his find!

Oh my gosh, it's going to be so much fun to go back there and find zillions of little tiny frogs all over the place! Wow!!
ReplyDeleteI'd go to sleep talking about that find too. Really neat.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful blog post Kelly! Those swans are so lovely and the frog spawn is amazing! I can see you all had a wonderful time out together... Spring is near...
ReplyDeleteThose swans are so beautiful. I don't think I've ever had the privilege of seeing any in the wild like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comments. We're still talking about the frog spawn! And those swans are really something special and even a little intimidating up close!
ReplyDeleteWe went looking for Spring yesterday. :)
ReplyDeleteNo bird nests, but plenty of blossoms.
Frogs soon!
