Stone Soup

I've been telling the delightful story, 'Stone Soup'. This week we asked our garden gnomes for a magic stone and made stone soup with the special stone as the essential ingredient.
For our stone soup we followed the tramp's special recipe - a magic stone, water, turnips, onions, meat, milk, a pinch of salt and barley. What magic was stirred into that pot...

Chop, chop choppity, chop,
We cut off the bottoms,
We cut off the tops.
What we have left we put in the pot;
Chop, chop, choppity, chop.

  3. Had to check this one out, Kelly! We have told and listened to "Stone Soup" so many times and I keep intending to make it with the girls, but am so glad to have stopped here first! I LOVE your idea of asking the garden gnomes to provide you with a magic rock for the soup. That will make it so much more fun! As always, I just love your blog and your wonderful ideas! Thanks Mamma!
